Can Royal Jelly Lower Your Blood Pressure?

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is a common condition.

The New Zealand Heart Foundation says “Your blood pressure is constantly changing as your heart pushes and relaxes. Having high blood pressure (hypertension) means that your blood is moving through your blood vessels with extra force.”

Left untreated and having high blood pressure over time can increase your risk of heart attack and stroke, it also increases the chance of having damaged arteries. It can also damage organs like the kidneys, the brain and your eyes.

1 in 5 New Zealanders suffer from hypertension, many of which don’t know they have it. In most people symptoms don’t usually present themselves, so it is hard to recognize. The only way to be diagnosed with hypertension is to have your blood pressure measured.

You may be able to control high blood pressure through positive lifestyle choices (as well as medication when necessary). Royal Jelly has also been observed to have a positive impact with lowering blood pressure.

Taking a supplement like Royal Jelly may be a great way to avoid your risk of developing hypertension and the serious conditions high blood pressure can cause.

“The thought of making changes may seem overwhelming, but the good news is that even a small change can have a positive impact. You can choose to work on as many or as few risk factors as you would like. The more you change, the better the result. “

Royal Jelly is a total superfood and has many incredible qualities, it is packed full of beneficial components, such as acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in regulating blood pressure as well as antioxidant flavonoid polyphenols, which can improve arterial elasticity, great for anyone worried about blood pressure.

While arguably, the most important element of Royal Jelly, related to lowering blood pressure is its peptides (short chains of amino acids). These stop the effects of ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme). ACE constricts blood vessels, slowing blood flow and increasing blood pressure, so by blocking this, the blood vessels can dilate to help reduce blood pressure.

When ingesting Royal Jelly into your blood stream, there are 11 different peptides that serve to lower blood pressure. A study conducted on human volunteer test-subjects in Japan showed a significant reduction of blood pressure on people with mild hypertension, over a 3-month period.

Looking into the effect Royal Jelly has on ACE inhibitors, a different Japanese study also saw a significant reduction of blood pressure. Concluding “consequently, RJ protein was thought to be a good resource of ACE inhibitory peptides produced by the gastrointestinal enzyme hydrolyses.”  This study was conducted on spontaneously hypertensive rats over a 10-week period with very favorable results.

Conclusion:

With hypertension being so common, it may be in your best interest to have your blood pressure measured. Hypertension can lead to debilitating conditions, but healthy lifestyle choices daily may be the best way to control your blood pressure – before it controls you!

Royal Jelly has been seen to have a positive effect reducing high blood pressure. A daily supplement like Kiwi Royal may aid in reducing your chance of developing hypertension.
